Painter Mijo Kovačić was born in Gornja Šuma in 1935 and died in Koprivnica in 2026. He lived in Koprivnica for about ten years. In 2018, a gallery featuring his works was opened on the ground floor of Gallery Koprivnica. In addition to its gallery
function, the space also serves as a venue for various cultural events, and in cooperation with the Kovačić Foundation, the gallery is managed by the Koprivnica City Museum.
